In this introduction to Theatre of the Oppressed, participants will utilize theater as a language - using our bodies, voices and lived experiences as our primary tools - to explore themes and rehearse strategies to make positive changes in our daily lives. This theatrical form empowers people to be active participants in overcoming oppression by raising awareness around oppressive systems, providing opportunities to envision action, and rehearsing positive change. By the end of the workshop, participants will have created original collaborative forums used to combat oppression. This workshop is an interactive and inclusive space where all abilities and ages are welcome.
